Kajiwara Hashin

Hashin was born in 1864, but much of his life is unknown. He was a disciple of Kyoshi and a druggist. This lone haiku is actually the only of his found anywhere and is only famous outside of Japan. Actually, the haiku isn't even referenced in Japan's saijiki books of season words (important to Japanese haiku poets).

Haiku by Hashin

  • No sky
  • no earth - but still
  • snowflakes fall
